Simply Music Piano Lessons with RObin Keehn

A Revolutionary Approach to Learning Piano for Life

Discover the Joy of Playing Piano—From the Very First Lesson

At my studio, piano lessons aren’t about practicing scales endlessly or waiting months to play music you love.
Instead, we focus on playing real music from day one—music that inspires, connects, and lasts a lifetime.

Using the groundbreaking Simply Music method, students of all ages and levels experience a deeply rewarding musical journey through styles such as:

🎵 Classical
🎵 Contemporary
🎵 Blues
🎵 Gospel
🎵 Ballads
🎵 Accompaniment & Arranging

Whether you're a child beginning your musical adventure, a teen developing creative expression, or an adult reclaiming your musical dreams—there’s a place for you here.

Music as a Lifelong Companion

Experts In Self-Expression

The Simply Music method goes far beyond learning how to read notes or play songs. It’s designed to help students retain and enjoy music for life.

Every Student Is Empowered To:

  • 🎶 Build a large and varied repertoire

  • 🌟 Become self-expressed through music

  • Self-generate, creating their own arrangements, improvisations, and  compositions

  • ❤️ Experience each lesson as self-affirming, building confidence and resilience

This is not just theory—I’ve taught Simply Music since 2003, and I’ve seen hundreds of students carry music with them far beyond the classroom. From spontaneous family concerts to composing original songs, these outcomes are real, personal, and lasting.

Why Parents, Teens, and Adults Love Simply Music

    Because it works.
    Because it’s joyful.
Because it’s a path to creativity, confidence, and connection.

Students in my studio learn to play a broad repertoire of songs they love—and they’re also learning to express themselves, overcome challenges, build resilience, and see themselves as lifelong learners and creators.

    Real Results I’ve Seen:

    • A 14-year-old confidently accompanying her school choir

    • A pre-teen blues improviser discovering their unique sound

    • A 60-something adult reawakening a childhood dream and playing every day for joy

This is what piano can be.

    What People Say

Robin has been teaching our 11-year-old son, Ben, for about a year now—entirely online—and it’s been a surprisingly positive experience. We weren’t sure how well online lessons would work with Simply Music, but Robin’s infectious enthusiasm and boundless energy, combined with the tutorial videos, have been exactly what Ben needed. She’s kept him inspired, motivated, and excited to play. He’s now playing songs by The Beatles and even subconsciously taps out rhythms when he hears music on the radio. We love how Robin introduces him to different genres from the start and tailors lessons to his musical tastes. Her approach is thoughtful, engaging, and effective.

Robin is the best teacher. She showed me how to play songs. She also showed me how to have fun.

    Ivan, Age 10

Here are 3 things I learned from Robin. I learned how to play songs, read notes, and how to have fun!

What Makes Simply Music Different from Traditional Piano Lessons?

It’s a playing-based approach, not reading-first. Students play real music from the very beginning.

Do Students Learn to Read Music?

Yes—reading is introduced after a strong foundation of playing is developed, usually in the second year of lessons.

    What Ages is this For?

Ages 6 and up—kids, teens, and adults all thrive in this approach.

Do I Need a Piano at Home?

Yes. Consistent practice is important. A full-size digital or acoustic piano with weighted keys is perfect.

Do You Teach Online or In-Person?

I've been teaching online for over a decade, which allows me to teach students in nearly all time zones! I also teach in person in Boise, Idaho.
