The Ideal Studio Mastery Mastermind 2026-27
A year-long room for Simply Music teachers who want to build the studio they actually want.
A small group of committed teachers from around the world. Two masterminds a month. A weekly check-in with me. An intimate group of people who help us think things through, see what we cannot, remember what we decided, and ask us how it went.
The new group begins in early November 2026.
By conversation and invitation.
Here's What I've Noticed
Here's what I've noticed after years of working alongside Simply Music teachers.
Most of us don't need more ideas. We have plenty.
What we need is a room.
A place to say the thing out loud — the enrollment dip, the staffing question, the parent conversation we keep putting off — and have people who understand this work help us think it through.
Then, two weeks later, someone asks: "So how did it go?"
That question changes everything.
What it is
A mastermind is a small group of people working toward a clear purpose, together. Napoleon Hill, who coined the term, put it simply: "No mind is complete by itself."
In our group, you bring real questions from your studio. We brainstorm. We learn from each other. We set goals — and more importantly, we follow through on them.
Personal topics are welcome too. The personal and the professional are never as separate as we pretend.
What it isn't
- It isn't a class.
- It isn't group coaching.
- It isn't a networking group.
- It's a group of peers — teachers with a range of experience — who show up for each other all year.
How we work, all year
Vision. What do you want your studio to be — and who do you want to become in it?
Commitment. Being 99% committed is harder than being 100%.
Mindset. The peaks, valleys, and plateaus are coming. We steady each other through them.
Habits. Progress is built on what you do every week, not what you plan once a year.
Mastery. Confidence and leadership come from doing the work, over time.
Joy. The reward. A studio, and a life, that works.

What Teachers Say About Working with Robin
Working with Robin is one of the highlights of my professional life! I have been privileged to have been in her Ideal Studio Mastery Mastermind, done on one coaching with her, and taken various workshops. Robin has a unique way to get to the heart of the matter. She has helped me to discover clarity in my purpose, all the while honoring who I am and coaching me to be the best version of myself.
First thing I should say is that I’m not a ‘Group’ person, nor am I “Type A”, goal-oriented or in need of community and support. Or at least that is how I felt when I joined Mastermind.
Eight years later and I can’t imagine where I would be without the collaboration, friendship, and community that I have found in Mastermind. Robin is a powerhouse support system. Her knowledge of Simply Music as a teacher is extensive and her wealth of skills in marketing, branding, business, and interpersonal dynamics make her a uniquely powerful coach. No matter what the problem or creative challenge - personal or professional - Robin and the talented teachers in Mastermind step up to provide solutions and ongoing support. My time with the group has elevated me to become a more creative and engaged teacher, a more focused business owner, and a more optimistic and motivated human.
I thought the purpose of Mastermind was to teach me how to run the business I have. What I didn’t realize is that it would teach me to create the studio I want! And if you can do that with your business, you can do that with your life.
I don't even want to try to imagine where I would be if I hadn't joined Robin's mastermind group 9 years ago. The longer I participate, the more valuable it becomes. My confidence as a teacher is at a completely different level thanks to my mastermind group.
Robin is a consummate group leader. While our focus is on professional growth, there is a deep understanding that personal and professional are inextricably linked and group members are free to bring any topic to the group.
I have been a Simply Music Teacher for 4 years and I am so grateful to have been in Robins mastermind group since the beginning of my journey. It has been an unwavering support at a time when I had just finished my initial training.
With this support, I grew my studio to 80 students. I believe this would not have happened without being part of this mastermind group. I was a new teacher and there were many moments of overwhelm and Robin has an incredible ability to leave you feeling heard, supported without criticism and was always available on the other end of the phone on many an occasion with tonnes of advice from her years of experience.
Being part of a group of like-minded teachers with varied levels of experience is invaluable. It is so much more than a mastermind group it’s a friendship that I have formed with Robin and all the members of the group that I never anticipated.
The success of the past 4 years lays heavily on this support and I would highly recommend joining if you want to grow your studio and learn from like minded teachers, feel supported and part of a community and get the most success out of your studio. It’s an investment in yourself and your business and I would not want to be without it.
I've been a member of Robin's Mastermind for a year now and I cannot recommend it enough. The support, advice, and insight she has given me have helped me grow my business, overcome challenges, put together proposals and presentations as well as implement systems and key members of staff and management that now, I couldn't imagine life without.
My weekly check-ins with her have been comforting and something I always look forward to. It helps me stay on track and accountable.
The people I've met through Mastermind and the network around the globe has been so beautiful. I feel so close with these people despite the time zones and different cities. They have made me feel like I'm not alone on this journey as it's so hard to find likeminded beings who are also in our line of work (that aren't competitors) to bounce ideas off of.
Honestly, we didn't see each other for 4 weeks once and it felt unnatural - that is how much I've enjoyed the fortnightly meetings and how close we have all become.
I joined Robin’s mastermind last year. I was going through a transition of moving my in-person students to a different location and valued the support I received during this time. Robin has so much experience managing both music and dance studios and has always had an answer to those niggling questions I have had over the years. Consequently I have been able to streamline many things in my studio making me a more productive and efficient teacher. You won’t regret joining Robin’s mastermind and also benefiting from her wealth of wisdom.
I have been part of the mastermind since last year and it has been fabulous on so many levels.
Spending time with like-minded and similarly experienced individuals—music teachers and business owners—has been incredibly rewarding.
The group sharing, accountability for our goals, and the friendships formed, even though some of us have only met virtually, have been invaluable.
The support for my business growth, through weekly and monthly check-ins and masterminds, has been outstanding. Thank you so much, Robin, and thank you to all the participants!
The Mastermind is a 12-month commitment paid monthly. Annual Plans are available upon request and a paid-in-full discount will be applied (personal check or cashier's check only - no credit or debit card payments).
The next Mastermind Group begins in early November 2026. *SPECIAL RATES ARE AVAILABLE FOR TEACHERS IN AU & NZ.
About Robin
I'm a Master Simply Music Teacher, Master Coach, and the former Director of Development & Teacher Trainer at Simply Music.
In 2003, I had 10 traditional students who showed up for what were basically glorified practice sessions. Within a few months, I had a joyful Simply Music studio of more than 60 students making consistent, rapid progress.
The biggest shift wasn't a marketing trick. I went from running a request-based studio to running a requirement-based one — and I learned to lead with confidence instead of hoping families would stay.
I went on to build a music and dance studio that served thousands of families for more than 25 years, and I've trained and coached Simply Music teachers for 15+ years.
I'm also a Certified Mediator, host of The Liberated Life podcast, and author of Stop Stealing From Yourself.
I do this work because I believe you can love your teaching, lead your studio with confidence, earn well, and still have a life outside of it.
How to join
1. Book a call. We'll spend an hour talking about your studio — where you are, where you want to be, and whether this group is the right fit.
2. Apply. If it feels like a fit, I'll send you the application after our call.
3. Get your invitation. Once you're accepted, you'll receive your welcome and first meeting date. The 2026–27 group begins with a goal-setting call in early November.
Questions
When do we meet?
The Northern Hemisphere Group meets two Fridays each month, with dates picked by the group. We begin at 10:30 am Pacific (11:30 MTN, 12:30 CST, 1:30 EST). The Southern Hemisphere will meet at a mutually convenient time.
I'm a newer teacher. Is this for me?
Yes. The group includes teachers with a range of experience — some joined right after their initial training. Newer teachers bring fresh questions, and experienced teachers learn from them too.
Is this group coaching?
No. I facilitate the group, but the value comes from all of us — brainstorming, sharing what's working, and holding each other to our goals.
How long is the commitment?
Twelve months, paid monthly — $285, $350, or $500 depending on your level of 1:1 support — or paid in full by check.
I teach in Australia or New Zealand. Is pricing different?
Yes. We will make sure that this is workable for you!
What if I miss a mastermind?
We do our best to choose our dates far enough in advance to accommodate everyone's schedule. However, if you miss a meeting you can watch the recording.

The Improv & Comp Workshop: I have experienced an absolute breakthrough in my playing and teaching as a result of Robin's composition and improvisation workshop. Before working with her, I felt anxious and intimidated each time I would try to compose a song or improvise on the piano. Thanks to the depth and quality of her experience as a teacher and coach, I now think of comp and improv as puzzles and adventures waiting to be put together and explored anew each time I sit down to play. Best of all, I have a new command over the language and skills needed to effectively teach composition and improvisation to my students... and it's made playing more meaningful and joyful for all of us!
Being part of the Mastermind has been an amazing experience. Getting to know Robin and other members taught me more about myself.
It has been very helpful in working on goals, be accountable, focused and committed. I appreciated the differences, the like-mindedness & support.
I appreciate Robin’s wisdom and experience, how she helps others to see and live their potential.
I took the Improv & Comp workshop with Robin, and it opened up a new world! I come from a traditional background so I have always felt a bit intimidated and overwhelmed by the Comp & Improv streams.
Robin helped me see how easy, accessible, and fun it could be for me and my students. She gave me lots of practical tips, tricks, and assignments.
She helped me transform something daunting into something doable. My students and I have all made such huge strides!
